Toting Tulips

Blouse: JC Pennies (similar HERE) | Pants: Flying Monkey via Amara | Shoes: Seychelles | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: Mindy Mae's Market | Purse: Céline (similar HERE) | Sunglasses: Loft

Hey All!
Jess from White Stag Boulevard here, and I am thrilled, as always, to be sharing my look here on Mindy Mae's! I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am that Spring is approaching. The tulips around my house have already started to bloom! I am looking forward to enjoying them for more than just a few days, so... I decided to skip the plucking of my flowers and head to the nearest floral shop. I grabbed these yellow beauties to brighten up my home! If only they would last in my tote I would probably just keep them there for the rest of the week...
Today's look is my simple "around town" Spring uniform. I pretty much live in over sized blouses from April to August. It's a great way to stay cool and it's easy to throw them on in the morning and still get that effortlessly styled look. I am switching out my favorite black leggings from this past winter for a light pair of skinny jeans. What can I say? All things in summer are light and bright, including my denim! For a day full of walking, I dawn my most comfortable wedge strap shoes. I need something that is going to stay on my feet!
My hair for the day is one of my favorite styles for second day curls! The braids pull my bangs out of my face and the loose simple braid down the side adds dimension to my very flat curls! I like to try and use as little heat as possible on my hair, so this works great because most of the time I don't have to re-curl anything! If a piece of hair is looking flat, just add a braid! I recently got a new set of tape in HotHeads Hair Extensions, done by the fabulous Kira Lynch at Amara Day Spa, and can I just say, I AM IN LOVE!
And for the most fabulous part of my outfit... Drum Roll Please....
My beautiful new bracelet from Mindy Mae's Market! I love the sparkle it adds to any outfit, and I also happen to have the coordinating necklace, which I wore straight for like 3 weeks after I got it! (See how I styled it HERE)
Happy Styling!

I love you in Ivory

Hey guys Kallie here from Forever Dolled Up!!
Alright, so we all know Valentine’s Day is coming up this week (hopefully the men realize this also). This is a more done up outfit to wear for Valentine’s Day when you go out with your man! Between the sparkle, the ruffle cardigan, the tulle skirt, and the cheetah print shoes I feel so girly and I love it!  I decided I wanted to keep the colors neutral and I love putting ivory on top of ivory. This Iced Necklace from Mindy Mae’s gives this outfit the final sparkle it needs for Valentine’s Day! I hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day with your lovers!!

changes.

we've been in puberty.
that awkward phase where you aren't quite little anymore, but you're not big either...
we have pimples, weird things happening, we're emotional, it's a mess.
but we've figured it out.
and we couldn't be more excited to share our experience with you!

when we first started, this was a whole different ball of wax.
something didn't feel right. so, changes were made.
changes worked.  we were growing!
in March of 2012, we started selling on deal sites.
that's where we realized, things were going to change, again.
in September of 2012 we hit 4,000 followers.
we were stoked {like being asked to our first dance stoked}
after finding the deal sites, we started following the crowd.
luckily, it's worked out. but we never felt like ourselves.
we were self conscience, awkward, and felt like a duplicate of others.
{like, we weren't different or special enough to catch ourselves a man}
we wanted more, but were too scared.
but we're ready to break away from that crowd and be ourselves!

you may have seen this skirt posted yesterday...

this is Courtney's baby.  she had dreams about it. drew it up. had it made.
when it came, she hugged it. {awkward}
she loves black and white, she loves stripes, and duh, a bow. and the pockets, oh the pockets!
score.

we launched it to you guys... you went wild.
-That-
{dramatic pause}
that is where we realized we should have been ourselves from the beginning.
it wasn't scary at all, it was amazing.

needless to say, you'll be seeing more Designs from MMM for MMM.
we hope to turn our shop into the ONE place you can receive items designed by our staff.

with these changes still comes some level of scariness.
what if someone makes a knock-off, or a duplicate, or something wildly similar?
{courtney will cry}{maybe}
but, this is where we could use your help!
if you love us, tag us! let us know!
you will receive $10 towards the store for letting us know about someone
using our photos or designs.
{stick up for us like a best friend should!}

we may be jumping the gun in thinking someone would want to copy us.
who's to say we're even "popular" enough for that?
 i hope we're right, i hope no one wants to be like us. :)

until we can fully make this transition, you will still see some of the ever popular boutique items in the store, as well as some crazy awesome sales to blow them out!
bye-bye past, hello future!
{class of 2013!}

xoxo

this pencil skirt is amazing, it's so flattering and such a great classic way to dress up. pairing it with a simple stripe shirt keeps it looking young and fun!

POC

the plan was to wear white, on white, on white. with a little pop of color.
then, it rained, and it was cold, and it ruined the plan.
so, a cardigan was added.

Second Feature....Tulle Wreath via Cox's Corner!

I watched Craft Wars (recorded) as I prepared these posts. They mentioned that as crafters- we prepared for holidays all throughout the year. That, my friend, is true. It might be because we are trying to keep readers interested- to stay ahead of the "curve", to be prepared with ideas for when it does come...to be able to budget time and/or money to make it happen. We just may be excited and want everything to come together "just so". Whatever reason....Cox's Corner delivers on thinking ahead for next year.

I love the reflection of the flag in the wreath...it inspires me! It may just find it's way into OTHER areas of my house...or my kids clothes....or MY clothes!
