Tonight my daughter was reading Cinderella and asked me what rags wore (when describing Cindy's dress) when I told her it meant the dress was worn out and probably had holes in it- she nodded knowingly. "So, like your jeans..."
So, let's be honest. I'm excited for Sarah and Urban Fashions to grace the MMM show. Mainly because I may actually take the time to look at/try on/buy something fashionable for myself.

All kinds of books! From picture books, preschool to middle school to seasonal, Spanish, accelerator reader to activity books.... Suzanne Reber with Usborne books will be joining us! I am so excited, books are so important to any child. My goal this year is to give books as birthday presents, and holiday gifts! I love their mission statement

My BS degree is Economics. I pride myself on understanding the difference between opportunity cost and cost/benefit analysis. ;) BECAUSE I understand these concepts and BECAUSE I truly have a desire to develop a feeling of community- I want to offer additional incentives to you to come and to CONTINUE to come to Mindy Mae's Market. The better vendors we have, the more desirable will be our show; the more desirable our show, the more people will come. The more people that come- the more YOUR individual business grows, too!
Funny things: During the Great Depression, business that continued to operate as if nothing was happening (developing products, producing products and ADVERTISING products) did better than those that did not. There are many companies today that we still buy from because they continued to lift people's spirits by offering the "normal" products that the general public had become accustomed to. Second thing, do you know what ONE particular item's sales skyrocketed? Lipstick. Yep. Something simple, something inexpensive and something that made the wearer feel beautiful. Women couldn't always justify a new wardrobe but they could convince their husbands of the small amount spent on something so important to their mental well being.
So- I want you to continue to produce and to advertise and I will do everything in my power to help you do so. Let's bring products that will lift spirits, that will inspire, that will allow for that spirit of community and sharing.
For those of you that apply for and are accepted for all 4 shows, I will deduct 1/2 of your entrance fee for December.
For those of you who are interested in applying but that the upfront cost is deterring you from getting your business to the show. Contact me. The entrance fee is what I use to cover advertising costs- I can't say that I don't need it or use it for your benefit, but there are arrangements we can make. We would love to share your trades and talents!

When we asked JoAnn of A Step in Time Boutique to tell us about her business she told us:
"It's all about accessories! I love watches and wanted one more way to be able to wear them so I created a fabric watch band. These bands are interchangable with all your watch faces you have for your beaded bands. It's just an additional fun way to change things up. I also love fabric flowers and once I made my first one, I haven't stopped. These flowers are made with layers of fabric with a fancy button center. They can be used as pins, hair clips, attached with bows on wrapped packages, attached to your necklaces for a fun and unique look. Anything is possible!
I love creating and crafting and I especially love to share it with everyone else!
I must say that I am G-I-D-D-Y to have this lovely vendor come! I, too, am taken by petti skirts- their fluff and frill and complete femininity and fun! I was set on learning how to make one! HAHAHA Well...now none of us have to. ;)
Think of the cute family pictures, or CHRISTMAS pictures....or the instant glam to that homemade (giggle) Halloween costume! Nothing says 'little girl' like one dressed up and twirling! So get your little girlers in and Being Petti will make them ALL twirlers!
I must admit, I have a couple of these in my closet. Frumpy, uncute and yet- never thrown away because I think I'll wear them over something. Or that I'll find the perfect ensemble to go with it. Or it just may be chilly and I'll need it.
Well, I plan on turning all of my frumpies into femme fatales! Look how darling this sweater is now! So very Mad Men, don't you think?
